MUSIC IN DISORDER: Concert & workshop

Klas Nevrin Trio also offers a performance-concert and workshop called “Music in Disorder”. It combines improvising music with discussing and presenting various concepts and methods of improvisation, as well as sharing our personal experiences, thoughts and interests, among other things… We believe that such a performance could contribute to making improvised music more accessible for the general listener. It is an attempt to expose the music-making processes in personal terms, thus unveiling the so-called “mysterious circumstances” that improvisation otherwise is presumed to be produced under. We are trying to create an open stage in which music, musicians and listeners can meet more vulnerably with each other, instead of hiding behind avant-garde pretentions. There is no secret language in improvisation! There is no code that only certain people have access to! On the contrary, improvised music is accessible to anyone, anywhere, who listens carefully. All we need is to allow ourselves to really taste the sounds themselves, rather than a particular message or narrative, and to be willing to accept disorder and constant change as highly meaningful, rich and inevitable aspects of life.
