Klas Nevrin Trio

Pianist Klas Nevrin and drummer Ricard Österstam have played together since the beginning of the 1990s. Their unusual interplay has claimed wide attention for an often lyrically contemplative improvisation style inspired by such things as Japanese Haiku poetry and North Indian classical music. Together with the immensely musical and eclectic contrabass player Vilhelm Bromander, the three musicians form a unique and dynamic assemblage that explores a rich range of musical material without stylistic boundaries, adopting methods that range from free jazz & improvisation to microtonal and world music. Their original compositions are meant to afford expressive and spontaneous freedom, but always with the intention to allow for patience, independence and sensitivity to guide the music. The result is an intense and often unpredictable interaction filled with unspeakable affects.
